About Imani Cezanne:

Born and raised in San Diego, CA, Imani Cezanne is a passionate poet, workshop facilitator, host, and community organizer. In 2016, Cezanne took 1st place at the renowned Women of the World Poetry Slam in Brooklyn, New York after taking 2nd in 2014. Cezanne has competed with seven teams at the National Poetry Slam and has made a number of television appearances incluiding TV One network’s Verses and Flow, a cable television show dedicated to showcasing performance poets from around the country.  Imani’s work digs deep into the silenced themes of race, gender, sexuality and privilege to become a catalyst for social justice and change. As a nationally touring spoken word poet, Cezanne has been invited to travel all over the country to share her work with poetry venues, colleges, universities, conferences, festivals and more!
