The show originated on Oxygen and now airs on BBC.
It all started in 1999 when Joy was spotted "WITHOUT PANTS" - yes, indeed, in a live sketch comedy show that she wrote and performed for HBO's prestigious U.S. COMEDY ARTS FESTIVAL in Aspen, Colorado. There, Joy was spotted by CWM Productions to develop and star in her own television series, "RIPE TOMATOES" for the new Oxygen Cable Network. Subsequently, she went on to star in another CWM series for the network called "RUNNING WITH SCISSORS". Joy was also Cover Girl for the 2001 Campaign of the ASPEN COMEDY FESTIVAL. Joy has made several guest appearances on various COMEDY CENTRAL shows and movies, including, "NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE", hosting “Reel Comedy” with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. CLASS CLOWNS is an annual live comedy review benefiting educational charities. The traveling show has included comedy and musical acts ranging from Alanis Morissette to Andy Dick to Kids in the Hall and has played in New York at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN's Comedy Theatre and in Los Angeles at the El Rey Theatre. Joy has written and performed over ten original plays, including "THE JOY SHOW" and an adaptation of Peter Farrelly's novel, "THE COMEDY WRITER".
