Break the Ice During Welcome Week with SungBeats

Ice Breakers play a crucial part in the start of the school year. But no one said they had to be boring!

SungBeats’ offerings help to create a relaxed environment where students share ideas and participate more fully while having some fun along the way.

Having been to college myself, I totally understand that the first few days leading up to the start of the semester can be an exciting yet daunting experience for new students. They may often feel like they are on their own, as they have not fully assimilated into campus life or established their social circles. As a beatboxing champion and veteran performer, I’ve worked with over 200 college activity boards to help ease this transition by providing fun interactive entertainment for Welcome Week. I can vouch that live music is the best way to foster a sense of community and belonging among new students.

Throughout my career, I’ve performed in 45 states, became the American Beatbox Loopstation Champion, and did a national commercial for M&M’s Chocolate. You might be thinking that the accolades are great, but would a beatboxing looping show fit us well? What exactly would it look like?

You see, my performance is more about highlighting the students and making them a part of the show than it is about me. Bringing students up on stage, recording their voices, and producing live music with them on the spot is an integral part of my show. I usually get big laughs and great energy from the crowd by teaching them how to beatbox and having them jam with each other impromptu. My job is to engage the audience with fun, interactive exercises that build teamwork. Do you have a theme this year for Welcome Week? I would love to include it in my personalized beatbox loop station song that I can perform just for your campus!

One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is helping people connect with each other in meaningful ways. I sometimes receive messages from students who tell me they met some of their best friends directly through my show at Welcome Week. Advisors have often complimented me on my ability to lighten the mood, create unity, and help build school spirit. I would love to create an unforgettable experience for your students this year in the Fall. I hope to see you soon!
