Seeing (RED): Sexual Assault Awareness Presentation

This presentation is specifically tailored to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and dating violence. The Seeing (RED) Series gives voice to the victims & survivors as a holistic approach. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness poetry and storytelling while identifying the ethics of being a good listener and help to communicate the importance of advocacy and activism within the work of violence. When dating violence awareness is highlighted, Seeing (RED) directly speaks to queer relationships, healthy boundaries, and owning your own power. Ebony uses poetry and audience interaction to speak on real-life experiences, while also focusing on the intersectionalities of sexuality, orientation, discrimination, and a safe space to ask questions free of judgment.

Objectives include:
- Identify instances of sex discrimination
- Evaluate repercussions of sex discrimination

Ebony Stewart uses poetry and storytelling as a holistic approach to examine and challenge the systemic and systematic varieties of violence in order to envision a country where people are protected and valued through proactive methods. The Seeing (RED) Series ties in aspects of generational trauma learned through relationships with the foresight of healing. This presentation is specifically tailored to address domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and gives voice to the victims & survivors. You can expect to be moved by stories and poems in an hour long set that are thoughtful, considerate, and are intentionally mindful not to retraumatize the audience. Added workshops are recommended.
